April

Sun 3rd  

Arrive Tel Aviv

Welcome Reception and overnight in St. Margaret’s Hostel, Nazareth.

 

        2

Mon 4th  

Nazareth & Haifa          

Meet with Arab Human Rights Groups in Nazareth, then travel by coach to Haifa and meet with the Baldna Organisation and learn about the situation for Israeli Arabs -many in unrecognised villages within the Israeli state.

Overnight at St. Margaret’s Hostel in Nazareth.

Tues 5th 

Jenin

Part coach-part cycle to Jenin. Visit Jenin Refugee Camp and local groups, including the Women’s Centre and the Jenin Freedom Theatre.

Overnight at hotel in Jenin.

 

        4

Wed 6th

Al-Fara

Cycle to the Al-Fara Refugee Camp to meet local people and community groups. Visit the former prison.

Evening cultural event and overnight with families in Al-Fara.

 

        5

Thur 7th  

Nablus

Welcome in Elbadan Valley.

Short break and media event.

Then visit the new campus at Al Najah University to meet students and learn about education under occupation in Palestine.

Later, tour of the Old City and overnight at the Al-Yasmeen Hotel in Nablus.

 

        6

Fri 8th 

Qalqilya

Cycle from Nablus to Qalqilya with Palestinian cyclists from the Qalqilya Cycling Club.

Presentation on the impact of the Separation Wall/Barrier and cycle tour around the town to see the impact of the wall on the area.

Overnight in Qalqilya with local families.

Sat 9th 

Bil’in

Cycle from Qalqilya to Bil’in.

Meet with Iyad Burnat from the Bil’in Friends of Justice and Freedom Society and learn about the community’s famous nonviolent struggle against the wall.

Overnight with families in Bil’in.

 

        8

Sun 10th 

Ramallah

Cycle from Bil’in to Ramallah.

Meet with NGOs and government organisations working for peace, and with local groups.

Overnight at hotel in Ramallah.

 

        9

Mon 11th 

Bethlehem

By coach to Beit Sahour.

Cycle into Bethlehem for a media and community event at Bethlehem University.

Visit to the Church of the Nativity.

Cycle to Aida Refugee Camp for a presentation with community leaders.

Overnight at hotel in Bethlehem.

 

      10

Tues 12th

Hebron

Cycle to Hebron and tour the area with the Youth Against Settlements group.

Learn about the unique situation in Hebron where Israeli settlers live so closely to the Palestinian population.

Coach back to Bethlehem, stopping for a visit to the Tent of Nations.

Overnight at hotel in Bethlehem.

Wed 13th

Jerusalem

Visit to the Anastas Family whose house has been surrounded by the wall in Bethlehem – time for souvenir shopping at their shop.

Cycle to the Bethlehem Checkpoint and then into Jerusalem.

Tour Jerusalem’s Old City and its historical and holy sights.

Presentation by the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions.

Overnight at hotel in Jerusalem.

Thur 14th

Jerusalem
